Jack C. Cole
Specializes in the study of Gastroenterology. He completed Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University Medical Center of East Carolina School of Medicine. He was Clinical Instructor at ECU School of Medicine before entering private practice in 1995. Dr. Cole graduated Cum Laude from Wake Forest University in 1982, with a BA in Biology.
He earned his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences, Kansas City, MO in 1989, and completed an internship and residency at ECU Department of Internal Medicine in 1992. He has also been a Research Investigator in numerous pharmaceutical trials with Carolina Research.
Dr. Hendon’s professional training began with Medical School at University of Pikeville, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kentucky. His residency and fellowship were completed at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. He is Board Certified in Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hendon joins us from Paducah, Kentucky, where he has worked as a Hospital Gastroenterologist for six years at Mercy Health.
Dr. Hendon diagnoses and treats disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, intestines, gallbladder, and pancreas. He specializes in polypectomy removal, early colon cancer detection, and he will also be offering Saturday procedures.
Received his Doctorate of Medicine from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington D.C. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at Howard University Hospital.
Dr. Vernon specializes in swallowing disorders, detection of colon cancer as well as colonoscopies. His training has made him uniquely qualified to treat disease of the stomach, colon, and digestive tract including abdominal pain, ulcers, irritable bowel syndrome, and heartburn/reflux.
Dr. Ugo Iroku
Dr. Ugo Iroku completed medical school at Harvard University in 2002. He completed his residency at Cornell University Medical Center and his gastroenterology fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY. Dr. Iroku is board certified in gastroenterology and is trained in the management of all gastroenterology and liver diseases.
A New York native, Dr. Iroku and his wife Tamra, a University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill graduate, have relocated to Greenville with their two young boys and are members of The Greenville Christian Fellowship Church. Gastroenterology East, P.A. welcomes Dr. Iroku to Eastern North Carolina where his advanced skills will benefit the patients of Pitt and the surrounding counties.
Jessica Lilley Brown
A life-long resident of Eastern North Carolina. Jessica graduated Cum Laude from East Carolina University School of Nursing, with her Bachelor‘s degree in 2004. She has worked as a Registered Nurse in cardiac, emergency, and gastroenterology patient care settings. She returned to East Carolina University and received her Master’s degree in Nursing, with a concentration in adult patient care.
Mrs. Brown specializes in providing evaluation for colon cancer screening, acid reflux disease, and other gastrointestinal problems.
Heather A Larsen
Heather graduated in 2015 with her Masters of Nursing from East Carolina University where she specialized as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. Mrs. Larsen also received her undergraduate degree as well as a Master’s degree in Public Health from East Carolina University.
She has been with the practice for many years as a registered nurse and has vast experience in Gastroenterology.
